Common Uses
Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard is used for walls and ceilings in garages, workshops, basements, laundry rooms, agricultural buildings, food processing areas, commercial kitchens, and any space where drywall would be vulnerable to moisture, impact, or the need for frequent cleaning. It installs directly to studs or over existing drywall.
Pro Tips
- Use corrosion-resistant #8 or #10 truss-head or round-washer-head screws with a minimum 3/8" head diameter. Standard drywall screws will pull through the panel.
- Install panels vertically for walls and horizontally for ceilings. Leave a 1/4" expansion gap at all fixed edges -- PVC expands and contracts with temperature.
- Trusscore can be painted with 100% acrylic latex paint if you want a colour other than white or grey. Self-priming paints work best.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Trusscore replace drywall in my garage?
Yes. Trusscore is the most common drywall replacement in residential garages. It is waterproof, impact-resistant, and can be power-washed clean -- none of which drywall can handle. Panels install directly to the exposed studs or over existing drywall.
Does Trusscore meet fire code?
Trusscore has a Class A fire rating. However, it is not a rated fire-resistance assembly on its own. If your building code requires a fire-rated wall, install Trusscore over a code-compliant fire-rated assembly (e.g., drywall on studs). Confirm requirements with your local building inspector.
Can I install Trusscore SlatWall on the same wall?
Yes. Trusscore SlatWall integrates directly with Wall&CeilingBoard. Install the SlatWall panels in the lower section of the wall (tool and storage zone) and Wall&CeilingBoard above for a complete, coordinated garage system.
