Common Uses
Used for building and replacing drawer boxes in kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and furniture. The pre-finished surface and pre-machined dado allow fast assembly -- cut sides and front/back to length, glue and nail the box, slide in the bottom panel, and the drawer is ready for slide installation.
Pro Tips
- Calculate drawer box width as the cabinet opening width minus the combined clearance required by your drawer slides (typically 1" total for Blum undermount slides -- 1/2" per side).
- Cut the drawer bottom panel 1/8" shorter than the full dado-to-dado measurement in both directions to allow for wood movement without binding.
- Use 1-1/4" brad nails and wood glue for drawer box assembly. Clamp square and check diagonals before the glue sets.
