Common Uses
The Kore Collection is suited for whole-home installation including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, laundry rooms, and high-traffic living areas. The dual IIC and STC sound ratings make it a strong choice for condos, apartments, and multi-level homes where both moisture resistance and noise management are required by building management.
The SPC core is more rigid than standard LVP -- check subfloor flatness before installation. The floor must be within 3/16" over 10 feet. Grind down high spots or use floor levelling compound on low spots.
Do not install a second layer of underlayment. The attached pad is engineered specifically for this locking system -- adding more causes joint flex and premature wear.
Acclimate planks in the installation room for 48 hours before installing, particularly in rooms with significant seasonal temperature swings.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between SPC and standard LVP?
SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) uses a mineral-filled rigid core instead of the flexible foam core found in standard LVP. The result is greater dimensional stability across temperature changes, better resistance to denting under heavy furniture, and improved performance over minor subfloor imperfections.
What do IIC 79 and STC 79 mean?
IIC (Impact Insulation Class) measures resistance to impact noise -- footsteps, dropped objects. STC (Sound Transmission Class) measures resistance to airborne noise -- voices, music. A rating of 79 on both is above average and exceeds the IIC 50 and STC 50 minimums required by most condo and strata buildings.
Can this be installed in basements?
Yes. The 100% waterproof SPC core is suitable for below-grade installations. Ensure the subfloor is dry and flat before installing.
Do I need transition strips between rooms?
Yes. Transition strips are required at doorways, between different flooring materials, and in rooms exceeding the maximum continuous run length. Ask your Windsor Plywood location for matching transitions in your colour.
How many boxes do I need?
Each box covers 24.29 sq ft. Measure your room, add 10% for cuts and waste, then divide by 24.29. Your local Windsor Plywood team can help calculate your order.
