Windsor Plywood carries wood and vinyl lattice panels for fencing, screening, garden structures, and decorative applications. Wood lattice is available in cedar and pine in standard 4x8 panels with privacy and diagonal pattern options. Vinyl lattice provides a maintenance-free alternative that does not require painting or staining.
Lattice panels are used for deck skirting to conceal the space beneath decks, as garden screening for privacy and to support climbing plants, as fence infill panels for decorative interest, and as architectural screen elements for privacy separation in outdoor living areas. The open grid pattern allows air movement while creating visual screening.
Diagonal lattice has the strips running at 45 degrees to the frame, producing the traditional diamond pattern. Square lattice runs the strips horizontally and vertically, producing a grid or square pattern. Both are functionally identical but have different visual characters — diagonal lattice is more traditional and commonly associated with garden and cottage aesthetics; square lattice is more contemporary and architectural.
Vinyl lattice requires no painting, staining, or maintenance and maintains its appearance through freeze-thaw cycling without cracking or warping. Cedar lattice is a natural product that weathers gracefully and can be stained or painted to match other exterior elements, but requires maintenance. For applications where ongoing maintenance is to be avoided, vinyl is more practical. For applications where natural appearance and customizable colour are priorities, cedar is the better choice.
Lattice panels are typically installed in a frame of pressure-treated or cedar lumber that holds the edges and provides structural support. The frame can be surface-mounted to posts or fencing, or installed in a routed groove. Use stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized fasteners for all exterior lattice framing. Leave expansion gaps between the lattice panel edge and the frame to allow for seasonal movement.
