Founded in 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Trimlite has grown from a small manufacturer of decorative glass inserts for steel doors into a leading manufacturer and distributor of residential doors and door products across North America. Headquartered in Renton, Washington, Trimlite operates 10 locations in four countries, serving a diverse network of wholesale distributors, dealers, local door retailers, and OEM customers. With a commitment to quality and innovation, Trimlite continues to expand its offerings and geographical reach, ensuring that customers have access to modern, stylish, and durable door solutions. As a proudly Canadian retailer, Windsor Plywood is pleased to offer Trimlite's range of products, providing customers with high-quality door solutions backed by expert advice and personalized service.
Windsor Plywood carries interior doors in panel, flush, French, bifold, and pocket door configurations from brands including Masonite, Jeld-Wen, and Trimlite. Panel doors range from traditional 6-panel colonial to contemporary flat-panel shaker styles. Both hollow core and solid core constructions are available in standard and custom sizes.
Hollow core doors use a cardboard honeycomb fill between two thin face skins. They are lightweight and cost-effective, suited for closets and low-traffic rooms. Solid core doors use a dense wood composite fill that significantly improves sound attenuation and gives the door a heavier, more substantial feel. Solid core is the better choice for bedrooms, home offices, and bathrooms where noise reduction matters.
Stand in the door opening facing the room you are entering. If the hinges are on your right, it is a right-hand door. If the hinges are on your left, it is a left-hand door. For pre-hung doors, the swing direction is set at the factory, so confirming this before ordering avoids having to return the unit.
Interior wood doors are available in hemlock, maple, red oak, white oak, alder, pine, poplar, cherry, and MDF, depending on the manufacturer and door style. MDF doors provide the smoothest painted finish. Stained applications benefit from species like oak, alder, and maple where grain character is part of the design intent.
Most interior slab doors come pre-bored with a 2-1/8 inch diameter bore for the lockset and a 1 inch diameter bore for the latch, with a standard backset. Pre-hung doors include the bore as part of the package. If you are purchasing a slab door to fit an existing frame, confirm the bore location matches your existing hardware before purchasing.
