      Frequently Asked Questions

What Gorilla Glue products does Windsor Plywood carry?
Windsor Plywood carries Gorilla Glue polyurethane wood glue, Gorilla Wood Glue in PVA formula, Gorilla Super Glue, Gorilla Construction Adhesive, and Gorilla tape and sealant products. The Gorilla line covers bonding needs from fine woodworking joints to structural construction adhesive applications across wood, metal, stone, ceramic, and foam substrates.
What is the difference between Gorilla Glue and Gorilla Wood Glue?
Gorilla Glue is a polyurethane formula that expands as it cures, is waterproof, and bonds a wide range of materials beyond wood. Gorilla Wood Glue is a PVA formula specifically designed for wood-to-wood joints, providing a strong, sandable bond with good working time and easier cleanup. For cabinetry and furniture joinery, Gorilla Wood Glue is the better choice. For mixed-material or outdoor applications, the polyurethane formula is more appropriate.
Can Gorilla Glue be used for outdoor furniture and deck construction?
Gorilla Glue polyurethane formula is waterproof and appropriate for exterior applications including outdoor furniture joints and structural bonding. Gorilla Wood Glue is water-resistant but not fully waterproof and should not be used for continuously wet applications.
How do I control the expansion of Gorilla Glue during curing?
Gorilla Glue expands 3 to 4 times as it cures. Apply it sparingly to one surface only, dampen the mating surface with water, clamp firmly, and wipe away squeeze-out immediately before it cures. Using less glue than you think you need and clamping tightly controls expansion and keeps squeeze-out manageable.
Is Gorilla Construction Adhesive suitable for subfloor installation?
Yes. Gorilla Construction Adhesive is rated for structural applications including subfloor bonding, threshold installation, and trim adhesion. It bonds to wood, concrete, masonry, and most building materials. Apply in a serpentine bead to the subfloor structure before laying panels. Full cure takes 24 to 72 hours depending on temperature and humidity.
