Baltic Birch Cabinet Plywood is the premium choice for precision cabinetry, CNC routing, scroll sawing, and any application where a consistent, void-free core is required. Unlike standard birch plywood, Baltic Birch is constructed with all-birch plies throughout -- more veneers per unit of thickness, no filler core, and no voids between layers. The result is a sheet that machines cleanly, holds fasteners reliably edge-to-edge, and stays flat under stress. Available in B/B grade in a non-standard 5 x 5 ft sheet size -- plan your cut list accordingly before ordering.
Important: Baltic Birch comes in 5 x 5 ft (152.4cm x 152.4cm) sheets -- not the standard 4 x 8 ft. Adjust your cut list and quantity calculations before ordering.

Baltic Birch is the standard choice for drawer boxes, cabinet carcases, jigs and fixtures, CNC-routed parts, laser-cut panels, scroll saw work, and any application where edge fastening is required. The void-free core means screws and pocket holes hold reliably at the edge without the risk of hitting a void and losing grip -- critical for drawer box construction and modular cabinet assembly.
For applications requiring standard 4 x 8 ft sheets, see Birch Plywood. For aviation and high-tolerance applications requiring certified void-free construction, see Birch Aircraft Plywood. For curved or flexible panel applications, Bending Plywood is also available at Windsor Plywood.
Why does Baltic Birch come in 5 x 5 ft sheets instead of 4 x 8 ft?
Baltic Birch originates from Northern Europe and Russia, where it is manufactured to metric dimensions. The 5 x 5 ft (1525mm x 1525mm) sheet is the standard European production size. It is not a cut-down version of a larger sheet -- it is produced at this size. Plan your cut list against these dimensions before ordering.
What makes Baltic Birch different from standard Birch Plywood?
Standard birch plywood uses a birch face veneer over a mixed-species or lower-grade core. Baltic Birch uses all-birch plies throughout, with more plies per unit of thickness and a void-free core. The result is greater dimensional stability, better edge fastener holding, and cleaner machining -- all at a higher price point than standard birch.
What does B/B grade mean?
B/B indicates the face and back veneer grades are both B -- a clean, sanded surface on both sides with minimal knots, repairs, or discolouration. Both faces are suitable as show surfaces, which is why Baltic Birch is used for visible cabinet interiors and drawer boxes.
Can Baltic Birch be used for CNC and laser cutting?
Yes. The void-free core and consistent ply thickness make Baltic Birch the preferred material for CNC routing and laser cutting. Voids in standard plywood cause bit deflection and inconsistent cut depth -- Baltic Birch eliminates this.
Is Baltic Birch suitable for painted finishes?
Yes. The tight, fine grain of Baltic Birch produces a smooth painted surface with minimal grain telegraph. Apply a sanding sealer or shellac-based primer before topcoating for the best result.
