Bubinga Hardwood Lumber

Bubinga, sometimes called African Rosewood, has a beautiful red-brown colour with straight or interlocked grain. It is easy to work with and great for turnery or for making decorative pieces, and fine furnishings. Come in and ask about our natural edge (as called live edge) slabs - great for shelves, furniture, mantles or whatever project you can imagine!

Specifications
Colour/Appearance Heartwood ranges from a pinkish red to a darker reddish brown with darker purple or black streaks. Sapwood is a pale straw color and is clearly demarcated from the heartwood. Bubinga is very frequently seen with a variety of figure, including: pommele, flamed, waterfall, quilted, mottled, etc.
Grain/Texture Grain is straight to interlocked. Has a uniform fine to medium texture.
Rot Resistance Rated as durable to very durable; mixed insect resistance.
Workability Easy to work with
Finishing lumber is surfaced 2 sides Available in 4/4", 8/4", 10/4", 12/4"
