Providing moisture, acoustic and thermal (M. A. T.) protection, this 3-in-1 underlay may be used under vinyl and laminate flooring with no pre-attached foam. While it's not a substitute for proper preparation. it does provides a firm layer of cushion between flooring and sub-floor to smooth out minor imperfections that might otherwise cause planks to lay unevenly. With a respectable impact insulation class rating of 72 it absorbs some underfoot noise and reduces transmission to floors below making it perfect for condos. It also eliminates the need for a separate vapour barrier.
