What is FSC?
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, non-profit organization founded in 1993 to support environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests. FSC certified forests are responsibly managed according to set standards. The goal is to improve forest conservation and reduce deforestation. Through chain-of-custody review, the source of a wood product is verified and tracked through productions into its final state. These products are labelled with a FSC logo, guaranteeing the consumer that the product they receive is credible and comes from a well-managed forest.
